The Newton showing is situated on middle east facing slopes on the west side of upper King Creek, a tributary to the Unuk River. The location is approximately 63.5 kilometres southwest of Bell 2 Lodge on Highway 37, and 78 kilometres northwest of Stewart, B.C.

The Newton showing is underlain by andesitic volcanic rock of the Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group and Upper Triassic Stuhini sedimentary rocks. It boarders Colorado Resources’ KSP Property and is northwest of the Max iron-copper skarn deposit. Kyba (2017) observed the most prospective rocks in this area might be associated with the continuation of the northwest trending Sky-Khyber fault through the property (Assessment Report 37403).

In 2016, Colorado Resources collected 3 rock samples 1285308, 1631048 and 1631049 while investigating a gossan. The bedrock in the area was grey, fine-grained sedimentary rock. Locally, float samples were found cut by quartz with carbonate, pyrite, and galena stringers and with disseminated pyrite, galena, and sphalerite. Float sample 1285308 assayed 0.12 gram per tonne gold, 16.9 grams per tonne silver, 0.20 per cent copper, 1.74 per cent zinc and 0.6 per cent lead (Assessment Report 36656). Sample 1631049 was described as an angular float sample with quartz-carbonate veinlets found in sedimentary rock scree. This sample contained 2 per cent pyrite and traces of galena and assayed 0.012 grams per tonne gold, 1 gram per tonne silver and no lead (Assessment Report 36656). Grab sample 1631048 is described as grey sediments with 10 per cent fine grained pyrite. This samples assayed 0.121 grams per tonne gold, 4.42 grams per tonne silver and 0.6 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 36656).

Work History

In 2006 and 2007, Hathor Exploration Ltd. completed a 7228.7 line-kilometre airborne geophysical survey on the area as the King claims of the Iskut project. In 2008, Max Minerals Ltd. examined the property.

In 2016, Colorado Resources Ltd. completed a reconnaissance exploration program on their KingPin Property which covered this new showing and 36 other MINFILE occurrences on the property. Work included the collection of 147 rock chip and grab samples and a total of 129 soil samples.

In 2017, Colorado Resources Ltd. conducted a program of prospecting, rock and soil sampling. The two best rock samples returned values of 0.123 per cent and 0.152 per cent Cu and one sample to the west on the KSP side of the KingPin property boundary returned 1.3 per cent Cu (Assessment Report 37403).
